August 2017 eNews – EL’s Circle of Friends

Greetings from Pittsburgh, PA! We are so grateful for the various contributions from many friends these past few weeks. We are especially grateful to the Dominican Order for featuring ELcause.org first on their English home page and then more recently on their French and Spanish home pages. Their sharing of ELcause.org has really helped to spread the word of all our efforts on behalf of Elisabeth.

New Content

We want to express our gratitude to Dr. Kelley Spoerl (Professor of Theology,at St. Anselm College in New Hampshire in the United States) for writing for ELcause.org a summary of Elisabeth’s spirituality. If you have not yet had a chance to read it, you can find the article at this link. We just recently published the French version and our friends are working on the Spanish, Portuguese and Italian versions.

We also want to express our gratitude for another new friend in Pittsburgh, who has completed an initial translation of ELcause.org into Italian! Please help us spread the word that the Italian translation is now available.

We posted a new monthly reflection for August, which can be found at this link.

New Connections

Since we started to work on the cause for Elisabeth, we had been encouraged by numerous people to try and connect with the group of lay people in Argentina who did much work on behalf of the cause in the 1990’s. We are so excited to have made contact with several of those individuals during the month of July. We hope to work together on the cause in the coming months. We are most grateful to our Spanish translator, who helped us make this initial contact by translation several emails for us.

With the help of all of our translators, ELcause.org has been visited from around the world (50 countries so far, and every continent except Antarctica) and we have received emails from around the world. This universal interest in Elisabeth is beautiful experience on a daily basis. We recently received an email from an individual in France who lives very near Elisabeth’s grave and who has offered to take prayers and petitions on occasion for the friends of Elisabeth. We no sooner received that email that we had another email asking to share a prayer request with our Elisabeth Circle of Friends.

Actions for the Cause

If at all possible, we are asking that you consider having a mass offered at your local parish for Elisabeth on (or around) her birthday: October 16th. We are aware of several masses in the United States, one in Canada, and arrangements are being made in Argentina. Please let us know if you are able to arrange a mass as we will publish a complete list.

Prayer Requests

We had a few prayer requests from our Circle of Friends. We ask that you please keep these requests in mind in your prayers. Feel free to send us any requests you would like to add.

  • Cheryl S – United States
  • A young man in Brazil with various health issues

We are most grateful for everyone’s support. We know we are just a small link in the Circle of Friends. Please help us grow the circle by sharing ELcause.org.

With our gratitude and prayers,

Jennifer and Joe
