On a recent trip to Paris, a new friend in the Elisabeth Leseur Circle of Friends shared with us a prayer card from 1936 with the intention of the beatification of Elisabeth. Prior to our awareness of this card, we had written a small prayer for the intercession of Elisabeth. We offer both to the visitors of ELcause.org.

Private prayer to obtain the beatification of the Servant of God Élisabeth Leseur
O God, who in your faithful servant Elisabeth Leseur, have given us such an admirable example of intense inner life in the midst of worldly distractions as well as an example of acceptance and love of suffering, “complete form of prayer” and “powerful means of apostolate,” grant, we pray, that by her intercession we may imitate her strong virtues and continue her great work.
And if it is in accordance with your merciful designs that your servant be glorified by the Church, deign to demonstrate, by increasingly perceptible divine acts of grace, the power that she holds at your side.
This we beseech you by the merits of Our Lord Jesus Christ, who, with you and the Holy Spirit, lives and reigns forever and ever.
Amen. (Pater, Ave, Gloria)

2017 Prayer for the Intercession of Elisabeth
God our Father, you granted to your servant Elisabeth Leseur gifts of words and a silent grace, that she should be a spiritual light to all she encountered, believers and non-believers, a woman who sought to “find in each soul the point at which it was still in touch with the Infinite, with God”. She found purpose in her suffering, enabled it to unite herself to Christ, and to completely trust in the providence of God.
Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may truly live out the words Christ spoke at the last supper – “To love one another”. We humbly ask that you glorify your servant Elisabeth Leseur, on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through her intercession, grant the favor I now present (here make your request). Through Christ our Lord. Amen. (Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be.)
